Genpact approaches enterprise AI through the business processes that need to run every day. Its offer combines technology delivery, agentic products and supervised operations. AI Maestro provides an orchestration foundation, while products such as the AP Suite apply AI to specific finance tasks. For a buyer, the question is how much of the operating process to entrust to the engagement, and how to preserve control when an invoice, exception or supplier query falls outside the normal path.
- 01The offer Agentic software, orchestration and delivery expertise centered on enterprise processes.
- 02The fit Finance leaders seeking better handling of high-volume work and difficult exceptions.
- 03The boundary Public product claims and proposed evaluation steps are separated from independently tested performance.
01 / ProductSeparate the platform, products and delivery model
AI Maestro is Genpact’s enterprise AI platform for configuring, deploying and overseeing agentic solutions. The page describes an intelligent spine built around approved process data, a context interface for supported applications, and configurable governance. It repeatedly qualifies capabilities by architecture, permissions and implementation requirements. Those qualifications matter: an ecosystem diagram does not establish that a particular customer environment already has every connection or control.
The AI Gigafactory is a delivery model bringing together technical and industry specialists, reusable engineering assets and use-case development. It should not be confused with a model-hosting tariff or a physical compute facility. In a proposal, distinguish the people and implementation work from the platform capabilities and from the business outcome the organization is trying to improve.
The agentic product portfolio includes finance, procurement, orders, insurance and banking offerings. Within it, AP Suite divides accounts payable into capture, processing, anomaly review and supplier assistance. Genpact also announced an accounts-receivable suite on 14 October 2026. These are connected areas of coverage under one company identity; buying one suite should not be assumed to include the others.
02 / AudienceStart where operational exceptions consume the team
Genpact is most relevant when an enterprise wants to change how a process is delivered, rather than simply equip staff with an assistant. A shared-services organization may already have invoice capture, an ERP and an approval hierarchy but still struggle with missing records, repeated supplier questions and unexplained holds. The valuable intervention is often organizing that work and its exceptions across system boundaries.
A smaller business whose accounting application already handles its process may not need a bespoke agentic operating model. An enterprise with a strong automation team may prefer to extend its current tooling. The UiPath blueprint helps assess an automation-platform approach, while the SAP blueprint is relevant when the transaction and approval context already sits in that application ecosystem. Compare the responsibility you need to buy, not just the interface shown in a demo.
The sponsor should identify one observable problem. For example, are invoices late because source fields are unreadable, because a purchase receipt is missing, or because no one owns a supplier dispute? Each requires a different intervention. Aggregating them into one automation percentage conceals whether the proposed solution can change the reason cases actually stop.
03 / WorkflowA proposed AP workflow that preserves the exception trail
Use a proposed pilot for purchase-order invoices from one business unit. Keep the existing payment authorization process. The experiment should prepare and route cases, then compare its outputs with the finance team’s established decisions. Include credit notes, repeat submissions, split deliveries and invoices received before goods are recorded. A case set containing only clean documents would tell the team little about its real operational burden.
The AP Suite page describes AP Capture for reading and enriching invoices, AP Advance for matching and exceptions, AP Trace for duplicate and unusual-pattern detection, and AP Assist for supplier queries. Map each module to a specific job in the pilot. Preserve the input record and the module’s output so an error can be traced to a stage rather than attributed vaguely to AI.
After capture, match the invoice against the approved purchase order and goods receipt. A language model may help interpret a free-text description, but ordinary controls should determine identifiers, arithmetic and approval thresholds. If the receipt is absent, prepare a request for the responsible team. Do not interpret a well-written supplier explanation as evidence that goods were received.
Run duplicate review separately from the ordinary matching path. Two files may refer to the same invoice even when filenames differ; two legitimate installments may also look similar. The proposed design should show why a pair was flagged and let the specialist record the resolution. A duplicate detector should not erase a document or silently merge two financial records.
For supplier queries, begin with draft responses. Give AP Assist the permitted workflow and ERP context, then have staff verify the response against the current case status. A message saying an invoice is approved can create confusion if it merely passed data capture. Define the vocabulary the assistant may use for received, matched, approved and paid, and link each term to a real system state.
Evaluate the complete exception path. Measure time to a reviewable packet, specialist corrections, repeat contacts and cases reopened after an apparently successful resolution. Include a disconnected ERP and a changed supplier record. The pilot should demonstrate a clear unresolved state and a safe retry path. These are proposed evaluation requirements, not claims that we ran AP Suite or verified a particular integration.
04 / PricingMake the commercial outcome measurable before pricing it
| Scope | Public commercial evidence | Confirm before purchase |
|---|---|---|
| AP product scope | Book-a-demo and expert-led access | Modules, entities, transaction volumes and rollout scope |
| Platform configuration | Capabilities depend on architecture and implementation | Supported applications, controls and model costs |
| Delivery and operations | Technology and business-process service offer | Implementation work and ongoing responsibilities |
| Outcome measurement | AI Maestro discusses outcome-based commercial models | Baseline, exclusions and acceptance measurement |
Commercial boundaries from AI Maestro, AP Suite and accounts payable services, consulted 19 October 2026. No public currency-denominated price was established.
The consulted pages do not provide a public per-seat or per-invoice tariff. A sensible proposal for the pilot distinguishes implementation, software access, infrastructure or model consumption, and any managed operations. These are questions to establish in a quote, not a claim that Genpact uses a single standard billing breakdown for every customer.
Outcome-based language makes the definition of success particularly important. An invoice can be processed quickly but still generate a supplier complaint or require correction later. Agree whether the outcome is extraction, matched posting, resolution of an exception or a completed finance process. Also decide which delays sit outside the delivery team’s control, such as a business owner failing to confirm a receipt.
AP Suite labels several headline benefit percentages as projected estimates. They are not a tariff, a service-level commitment or evidence of the result this organization will achieve. Build the business case from the organization’s own baseline and show the assumptions separately. A useful sensitivity analysis includes lower adoption, a higher exception rate and the reviewer time needed to maintain acceptable outcomes.
05 / DistinctionsProcess knowledge is useful only when it remains inspectable
Genpact’s accounts-payable service offer places technology inside a broader finance operation. That can be useful when the buyer lacks capacity to redesign both the workflow and the software. It also makes the operating agreement central: decide who maintains process rules, who supervises agents and who resolves a dispute that crosses the customer and provider boundary.
AI Maestro describes using approved operational and correction data to improve performance, subject to governance and human oversight. In the proposed workflow, that should produce a controlled feedback loop. A reviewer’s correction might update a mapping or evaluation example, but a one-off exception should not automatically become a rule applied to every supplier. Make the promotion from feedback to policy an explicit decision.
The modular AP offer provides a useful way to avoid buying a larger transformation prematurely. If capture already works, an evaluation might concentrate on supplier assistance or duplicate review. Ask for the smallest scope that changes the measured bottleneck, while preserving a clear route to connect other modules if the evidence supports expansion.
06 / QuestionsClarify compatibility and the meaning of autonomy
Which application versions, business entities and approval paths are covered by the proposed implementation? AI Maestro’s partner flexibility is subject to technical compatibility. Request a demonstration using the intended systems and permissions. Switching a model or cloud component may still require integration and validation work; the public description does not establish cost-free substitution.
Which actions can proceed without a person, and what stops them? The answer should distinguish preparing data, posting a record, replying to a supplier and releasing money. Confirm who can change those boundaries and how an investigation reconstructs an agent’s actions. Autonomy should be a defined permission within the process, not a blanket property of the purchased product.
07 / DecisionBuy an accountable operating improvement
Genpact is worth evaluating when finance operations need coordinated software and process expertise. A focused AP pilot should show that the right evidence reaches the right person with less rework. Expand only after the team understands the remaining exceptions, the commercial measurement and the responsibilities that continue after implementation.
High-volume AP exceptions
Pilot one invoice population and preserve the full matching and review trail.
Capture already performs well
Evaluate a narrower module around queries or duplicate review.
Simple finance workflow
Compare the existing accounting or ERP automation before commissioning a broader operating change.
