Wayground is the current name of Quizizz, an instructional platform that now extends beyond quizzes into resource creation, differentiated activities and school reporting. Its AI tools help teachers turn existing material into classroom resources and review student work. The practical attraction is the connection between preparation and delivery: the teacher can adapt a resource, assign it and inspect what happened without treating AI-generated questions as a finished lesson.
- 01Core job Create, adapt and run instructional activities from existing teaching material.
- 02Best fit Teachers connecting resource preparation with classroom delivery.
- 03Important limit AI drafts and usage summaries still need checking against their source.
01 / ProductThe Quizizz identity continues under a broader teaching platform
The official rebrand explanation says Quizizz became Wayground as the offer expanded from interactive quizzes to a broader range of instructional resources. The website moved to wayground.com and existing links redirect. This is one continuing company identity, not a new listing for a separate Quizizz product beside Wayground.
The teacher extension FAQ describes turning sources such as articles, Google Docs, PDFs and YouTube videos into assessments, flashcards and passages. It also supports feedback on Google Docs and grading Google Classroom assignments. The extension is for teachers, uses a Wayground account and requires an internet connection. Students should not be assigned the teacher extension as their route to the activity.
Accommodations adapt how students interact with a shared assignment. Options include extra time, reading support and changes to presentation. These controls serve a different role from generating content: a good question may still be inaccessible to a student if the timing, display or response method prevents participation. Planning the activity means considering both.
02 / AudienceUseful when preparation and differentiation are the bottlenecks
Wayground fits teachers who already have material worth teaching and want to turn it into an activity students can complete. A science teacher might start with a short explanation, add questions that reveal misconceptions and adapt the presentation for students who need extra support. The platform is most useful when the teacher can judge the source and the quality of the generated task.
School leaders have another use case: understanding adoption and deciding where teachers need support. Ask Wayground AI answers questions about organizational usage data, including feature use, standards coverage and participation. It is a reporting assistant within Usage Analytics, not a general-purpose analyst with unrestricted knowledge about learning outcomes or everything happening in a school.
The platform is less suitable as an unattended source of summative assessment. A generated question may be factually correct but test an unintended skill, contain a clue or use language that is harder than the concept itself. For high-stakes grading, the educator needs a defensible assessment design and review process. Faster authoring does not remove the need to decide what evidence of understanding a question should produce.
03 / WorkflowA proposed lesson from source reading to targeted follow-up
This proposed workflow starts with a short, teacher-approved article about a local ecosystem. It is an editorial example, not a classroom trial. Define two objectives before generating anything: students should identify a relationship in the ecosystem and explain what might happen if one condition changes. Those objectives help distinguish useful questions from incidental facts that happen to appear in the source.
Open the material and use the teacher extension to draft an assessment or passage activity. Keep the source short enough to inspect completely. The extension documentation warns that long sources can be trimmed before processing. An apparently complete activity may therefore omit later sections of a document. Compare the resulting questions with the whole source and the stated objectives, rather than assuming the tool processed every paragraph equally.
Review each question in the full Wayground editor. Rewrite any ambiguous answer, remove distractors that are obviously implausible and include at least one prompt requiring explanation. If the objective concerns cause and effect, a set of vocabulary definitions will not provide sufficient evidence. The editorial work here is instructional design: deciding which response will tell the teacher something useful about a student’s reasoning.
Configure accommodations before assigning. For a passage-based reading task, note the documented Read Aloud boundary: it reads the attached questions and answers, not the passage itself. That may preserve the intended reading assessment, but it may not meet a student’s separate access needs. Preview the student experience and choose the appropriate support through the school’s established instructional process.
After the activity, group the responses by the misconception they reveal. A student who identifies the right species but cannot explain the relationship needs different follow-up from one who misunderstood a word in the question. Use a short teacher explanation or a revised activity to address each gap. Do not let an overall participation or accuracy number replace inspection of the answers that produced it.
Where administrators use Ask Wayground AI to inspect adoption, verify consequential totals against the Reports tables. Its documentation explicitly instructs users to check important answers. A rise in accommodated sessions can show that a feature is being used more often; it does not establish that every accommodation was appropriate or that attainment improved. Keep operational usage and educational impact as separate questions.
04 / PricingPlans differ by region and by instructional scope
One public view of the individual pricing page, consulted 7 October 2026, displays an Individual offer at $12 per month, billed annually at $144, with a seven-day trial. Another public view displayed $18 per month billed annually at $216; the reason for the difference was not established, so the intended account’s billing offer controls. These are annual-billing equivalents, not monthly contracts. The plan guide separately notes that features vary by region. Confirm the account’s price, billing currency, renewal terms and included tools before subscribing.
| Plan | Documented model | Practical boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Starter / Basic | Free entry route with limited library, storage and AI | Confirm local limits; public storage descriptions differ. |
| Individual / Super | Public offers differed: $144 or $216 billed annually | Equivalent to $12 or $18/month; confirm the account’s offer and currency. |
| School / University or School & District | Contact sales for a quote | Confirm instructional, reporting, integration and administration scope. |
Commercial model consulted 7 October 2026: Wayground pricing, plan guide and library storage.
The storage explanation and Basic plan card describe 20 resources, while the pricing comparison also lists 10 activities. Confirm the account’s actual allowance before planning a term’s library. Teachers can archive resources to free space, but the help page says archived material cannot be edited or used until upgraded. Storage is therefore a workflow constraint: check what remains available when older activities are archived.
Institutional plans add broader reporting, LMS integration and administrative support. Price the workflow you need: a teacher preparing occasional activities has different requirements from a school that wants coordinated access and longitudinal reporting. A free extension installation does not establish unlimited use of every paid feature, and an individual plan should not be assumed to reproduce all district administration capabilities.
05 / DistinctionsThe activity is delivered in the same environment where it is adapted
Wayground’s distinction is the connection between material, activity, student support and the resulting response data. AI can shorten part of preparation, but the surrounding workflow determines whether the result is teachable. An educator can use the generated draft as a starting point, then make decisions about question quality and accommodations within the context of the lesson that will actually run.
Our Canva blueprint covers a shared visual-content workflow with editable designs and AI assistance. It provides useful context when a teacher needs to prepare presentation material, while Wayground organizes activities, student responses and follow-up reporting. Compare the complete classroom task: creating an attractive resource is one stage, and checking how students understand it is another.
Our Google blueprint examines a much broader AI and productivity ecosystem. Wayground’s extension can work with teaching material in Google environments, but it adds a specific instructional workflow around that material. A teacher deciding between tools should ask where review, assignment and student responses will live, not only which assistant can draft an explanation.
06 / QuestionsCheck source coverage, support behavior and reporting meaning
Did the generator read the material needed for this objective?
The extension’s stated handling of very long sources creates a concrete review requirement. Select a bounded reading, inspect the end of the source and look for omitted concepts. If a question depends on a diagram or an exception in a footnote, confirm that the generated version preserves it. A fluent draft can conceal incomplete input coverage.
Does an accommodation change the skill being measured?
Extra time, translation and read-aloud support serve different purposes. Decide whether the lesson is testing subject understanding, reading comprehension or another skill. Then check how the chosen support changes the activity. The product offers controls; the educational decision about when to use them belongs in the teacher’s planning and the student’s agreed support arrangements.
Are generated grades or summaries ready to publish?
The extension FAQ says grades sent to Google Classroom are drafts until the teacher returns the work. That review opportunity is useful. Inspect representative responses and any surprising result before publishing. Likewise, an analytics answer should be checked against its underlying report when it will inform a budget, adoption statement or school-level decision.
07 / DecisionStart with a lesson you can inspect from beginning to end
Wayground is worth considering when an educator wants to reuse trusted material, prepare varied activities and support students within one lesson workflow. Begin with a small source, explicit learning objectives and a short activity. Check the generated questions, the student view and the quality of the response information before expanding to a whole unit.
For a school, distinguish a successful teacher experiment from the requirements of a coordinated deployment. Confirm the regional plan, storage, administration and support needs. Continue when the tool helps teachers make better instructional decisions, rather than merely producing more resources or a more impressive usage chart.
